Week 1

Lots of things to discuss today. Week 1 of the NFL and things we are taking away from it.

1. Very critical of Romo in the first half - lots of missed opportunites and plenty of Romo Bashing going on. Got to love that! My brother and I rewinded the beginning of the telecast three or four times just to watch Romo 'fire up' the team. This is that new leadership we are coming to expect in 2009. It was good to see Romo and RoyE get off to a good start. That chemistry and 'Romo-Friendly offense' looks to be clicking. As critical of Romo as we were in the first half, he must have heard us through the television because 2nd half he came out on fire. His three td passes accumulated for a little more than 50% of his total pass yards. Here is the Cowboys report card for week 1.
Passing: A-
A few missed opportunites in the first half (over throw of Miles Austin, followed by shit-eating grin & the terrible alley-oop to MartyB. Other than that Romo was error free and looked good.
Running Backs: No Grade
Not sure where any running back was yesterday. Did we run the ball? I know Barber had some carries but where was Felix or Tashard?
Defense: B-
Secondary is suspect. Cadillac Williams looked STRONG in the first half. Did not get to the Quarterback until 4th quarter. No turnovers.. picking up right where we left off last year.
Special Teams: A+
McBriar - win. 'Kin'Folk - win. Defense, blocked FG and our place kicker, is a BEAST.

Urlacher is out for the year. Cutler was awful (Makes Josh McDaniels look like a prophet Week 1).
Adrian Peterson is awesome (understatement). That Nike commercial has it right with AD's skin looking like a reptile.
Sanchez looks solid.
Jake the Mistake Delhomme - 9 interceptions in last 2 starts = fail. Oh and he signed a 5year extension this summer! congrats!
